Get a good night’s sleep. Don’t cram the night before!
Eat a good breakfast so you have energy and don’t get hungry during the test.
Bring two pencils with you to the test. If you would like to have water and a snack for the break, you can bring that with you as well.
Before the test begins, you will fill out a scantron answer sheet with your name and other details. You will also indicate on your scantron which high schools your scores should be sent to. These will be the high schools that you have applied to.
The start and end times are generally written on the board, and there should be a visible clock in the room. Also, the test administrator will announce the halfway point of each subtest.
Answer every question. If you are unsure of an answer, take your best guess. There is no penalty for answering incorrectly, so you never want to leave any answers blank.
Check your work. If time permits, go back and review your answers. Once the time is up for a subtest, you cannot go back.
If you have questions or concerns during the test, do not hesitate to ask your proctor.
- Plan to celebrate after finishing the test. You have worked hard for this day and should celebrate your accomplishment!
