Get a good night’s sleep. Don’t cram the night before! Eat a good breakfast so you have energy and don’t get hungry during the test. Bring two pencils with you to the test. If you would like to have water and a snack for the break, you can bring that with you as well.

A strong vocabulary is fundamental for success on the HSPT. Nearly two-thirds of the problems on the Verbal Skills subtest incorporate knowledge of vocabulary.
The HSPT®, or High School Placement Test®, is a 298-question, multiple-choice exam consisting of 5 separate subtests: Verbal, Quantitative, Reading, Math, and Langauge.
There is one main score to look for on the HSPT® score report and that is called the Composite National Percentile.
